Brewing with pre-ground coffee
You'll find the pre-ground coffee compartment at the top of the machine. Open the lid of pre-ground coffee compartment. Add one scoop of pre-ground coffee. Choose a drink from the menu. Then tap on the customizer icon on the left-hand side of the screen. Select the pre-ground icon. You can then adjust the volume and temperature too, if you like. You can't adjust the strength when using pre-ground coffee. Tap "Start" to begin brewing.
Adjusting the grinder
Finding the right grind setting will help you get more flavor from your beans. Place a cup under the coffee spout. Remove the lid of the bean hopper. Then choose a drink from the menu and tap on the "Start" button. Wait for the grinder to begin. Press down on the knob and turn it to the left or to the right to adjust. do not turn the knob more than one notch at a time to prevent damage to the grinder. Smaller dots mean a finer grind, larger dots mean a coarser grind. Note, you need to brew 2-3 cups before you can taste the full difference.
Connecting to Wi-Fi and software updates
Connect to Wi-Fi access your machine's digital features. You'll also get continuous improvements via software updates. Connect your coffee machine only to a 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi network.
Software updates are essential to safeguard your privacy and proper functioning of your coffee machine. Improvement of performance, installation of new features, compatibility with the new technology and proper functioning. To install the latest software updates, go to Connected settings under Menu and tap Wi-Fi icon. Toggle on "Update automatically" button so your machine is always ready in the morning.
Connecting to HomeID App
HomeID is your machine's companion app. It gives you access to special features. To connect your machine download HomeID by scanning the QR code in you Quick Start Guide. You can also search for Philips HomeID in the Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).
Open the app and log in or sign up. Tap on "Add appliance" in the app. Select "Coffee Machine" and then select "Philips Cafe Aromis 8000 Series". Tape on "Add appliance" to confirm. Your machine should now be in Setup mode. You'll see the Wi-Fi symbol blinking too. Can't see the Wi-fi symbol blinking? Go to: Machine Setting> Connected settings> Wi-Fi > Enable Wi-Fi. On your phone, you'll then received a request to enable location. Tap on "Philips Cafe Aromis 8000 Series" to start connecting your machine. Once you allow, the app will search for your machine. You should see it appear in the list of found appliances.
Next, you'll receive a Bluetooth pairing request on your phone. Tap "Pair". Then select the Wi-Fi network and enter the password. Tap "Connect" to continue. It takes around 30 seconds to finish setting up your machine on HomeID. You'll get a confirmation message when it's done.
Direct Start & Rinsing
Direct Start is away to shorten the time between turning on your machine and brewing. You can access this feature in the Philips Cafe Aromis 8000 Series by turning off Rinsing.
Can't wait to brew your coffee? Go Machine Settings>Rinsing. Toggle off. When enables, the machine runs short rinsing cycle as it turns on. this not only helps clean the internal system but also warms up the machine ensuring your first cup is served at the ideal temperature. To activate or deactivated automatic Rinsing on start-up, go to Machine Settings under Menu. Scroll and tap Rinsing Settings. Then, toggle On and Off based on your preference. Save by tapping on the Save button.
Add water
Looks like the water tank is missing or there's not enough water? Slide out the water tank. Fill with fresh water up to the MAX indicator. Slide the tank back in.
Insert drip tray
Looks like the drip tray or coffee grounds container aren't in place? Remove the drip tray and check the grounds container is in place. Place drip tray with grounds container back into machine.
Check drip tray or service door
Looks like the drip tray or coffee grounds container aren't in place or the service door is open. Remove the drip tray and check the grounds container is in place. Place drip tray with grounds container back into machine. Check the service door is closed.
