Unpack, plug in, and follow the on-screen instructions. Fill the water tank and bean hopper—your machine will calibrate automatically.
Unpacking your machine
Open the box and remove any protective layers and a pack with printed materials. Carefully lift the machine out of the box using the side grips. Remove all protective films, tapes and internal packaging from the machine. All included accessories are designed to help you get started smoothly. Your perfect coffee is just a few steps away.
Turning the machine on
Press power button to turn on. Choose your preferred language.
Setting water hardness
Start by removing the water hardness test strip from its packaging. Dip the strip under running tap water for a second. Wait 1 minute for the squares to change color. Select the matching results on your machine then tap Continue to save.
Filling water tank
First, slide out the water tank. Next, fill it up to the MAX indicator. Slide the tank back into the machine.
Filling the bean hopper
First, remove the lid from the bean hopper. Then, add your favorite beans. Place the lid back on. To finish, your machine will calibrate to the beans. It can be little noisy!
Assemble LatteGo Pro
Start by removing the transport clip from your LatteGo Pro. Rinse it under tap water. Position the top of the container under the hook of the frame. Press the bottom part of the container into the frame. You should hear a click when it's secure. Now you can attach the LatteGo Pro onto your machine.
Installing AquaClean filter
AquaClean filters prolong the time between descaling and preserve that great coffee taste. It takes a few minutes to install and activate. Start by unwrapping the filter from its packagining and shake it for 5 seconds. Next, submerge the filter upside down in a bowl of cold water. Wait until you can't see any bubbles. Slide out the water tank and empty it. Holding the filter vertically, press it onto the connection point in the empty tank. Fill the water tank up to the MAX indicator and slide it back into the machine. Place a large container under the hot waterspout. Press Start to activate the filter. Activation takes around 2 minutes.
Brew Espresso and customizing your drink
Ready to start brewing coffee? Place a cup under the coffee spout. Adjust the spout to the height of your cup. Select Espresso. You'll find it under Black Coffee in the drinks menu. Want to adjust? Tap on the customizer icon on the left. Want to brew two cups at once? Tap on the icon with two cups on the left. You're ready to start brewing! Tap on the Start button to brew you Espresso.
Making milk-based drinks
In the mood for a cappuccino or an iced latte? Attach LatteGo Pro to make milk-based coffee. Pour your preferred milk into the LatteGo Pro. Be careful not to go over the MAX indicator. You can use dairy or plant-based milks. Next, place a cup so it sits underneath the LatteGo Pro and coffee spout. Select your milk-based drink. You'll find them under Hot with Milk and Cold with Milk under the drinks menu. You can adjust the volume, strength and temperature so it's just right. Tap the Start button to start brewing your milk-based coffee. Your machine will let you know when it's ready. Have leftover milk? Give the LatteGo Pro a quick clean by going to Maintenance > Clean LatteGo Pro. Then store in the fridge. To clean all of it, pour out any remaining milk and wash under the tap or in the dishwasher.
Making Iced Coffee
First, place a glass under the coffee spout. Use tongs to fill your glass with ice cubes. Pull the coffee spout down so it's at the right height for your glass. Select Iced Coffee. You'll find it under Cold Coffee in the drinks menu. Want to adjust it? Tabe on the customizer icon. Change the strength and volume, if you like. When making iced drinks, Philips Cafe Aromis uses water at a lower temperature and slows down the flow rate, so you get the best possible extraction.
Making Cold Brew
Philips Cafe Aromis prepared brew by using water at ambient temperature. This creates a smother, sweeter flavor. Start by filling you water tank with cold, fresh water. Place a glass under the coffee spout. Next pull the coffee spout down so it's just above your glass. Select Cold Brew. You'll find it under Cold Coffee in the drinks menu. Want to adjust it? Tap on the customizer icon to change the volume. tab Start to start brewing. And a splash of fresh milk, or cold milk froth, to finish.
Dispensing hot water
Only want hot water? Start by removing the LatteGo Pro if it's attached. Next, place a cup under the hot waterspout. Select Hot Water. You'll find it in the main drinks menu. Tap Start to start brewing hot water.
Saving drinks to a profile
Create a profile to save all your favorites in one place. Start by tapping the Profile+ icon. You can also create a profile via our HomeID app. The app gives you access to more digital features. Choose a color for your profile. Choose up to 8 of your favorite drinks for the drinks menu. Adjust your drinks so they're just the way you like them. Tap the Save icon to save the drink to your profile. It's ready for next time! Keep in mind that anyone can customize a drink. To save it for easy access later, you'll need to create a profile. Want to create a profile in the HomeID app? Open the app and go to your machine's home screen. Tap on "Add profile". Choose a color and name your profile. Add up to 8 drinks to your profile and tap "Save" to finish.
Connecting to HomeID App
HomeID is your machine's companion app. It gives you access to special features. To connect your machine, download HomeID by scanning the QR code in the Quick Start Guide or search for Philips HomeID in Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS). Can't find it? Open the app and log in or sign-up. Tap on "add appliance" in the app. Select "Coffee Machine" and then "Philips Cafe Aromis 8000 Series". Tap on "Add Appliance" to confirm. Your machine should now be in Setup mode. You'll see the Wi-Fi symbol blinking too. Can't see the Wi-Fi symbol blinking? Go to: Machine Settings > Connected Settings > Wi-Fi> Enable Wi-fi. On your phone, you'll then receive a request eo enable location and Bluetooth permission for the HomeID app. Tap on "Philips Cafe Aromis 8000 Series" to start connecting your machine. One you allow, the app will search for your machine. You should see it appear in the list of found appliances.
Next, you'll receive a Bluetooth pairing request on your phone. Tap "Pail". Then select the Wi-Fi network and enter the password. Tap "Connect" to continue. It takes around 30 seconds to finish setting up your machine on HomeID. You'll get a confirmation message in the HomeID app when it's done. Once complete, you can start exploring extra digital features. Enjoy!
Brewing remotely
You can control your coffee machine from anywhere with our HomeID app. Download the app and connect it to your machine so you can order your favorite coffee from the sofa in a few taps. To brew remotely, open the HomeID app on your phone and turn on your machine. You can do this from the "My Appliance" screen. Choose your coffee from the drinks menu. Next, adjust the strength, temperature or volume if you need. Finally, make sure there's enough water, fresh beans and a cup in place. Then slide "Start brewing" Enjoy!
Using barista assistant
Barista assistant is your machine's built-in expert helper. It won't stop until you get the coffee you want! You can access it from your machine or the HomeID app. Use it on your machine by tapping the bean icon on the display. Find the ideal setting for you beans. Use barista assistant to extract more flavor from your beans. Share your current bean type and roast and let your machine find the ideal setting anad adjust them automatically. This is the only feature available via your machine.
Improve your drink. Feel like your coffee isn't quiet, right? Rate your drink in the HomeID App and let barista assistant help. It recommends better temperature, volume and strength settings. And save them too. Get bean recommendations. Not sure where to begin when looking for new bean? Ask barista assistant in the HomeID app to recommend a bean type and reset based on your flavor preferences.

On HomeID app, you'll find it in Shortcuts on the "My Appliance" screen or by tapping on "Meet now". Tap on the bean icon. Also look out for the bean icon. It's a way to quickly get barista assistant help wherever you are in the HomeID app, or on your machine.
