My Philips Baristina Espresso Machine is leaking
If your Philips Baristina Espresso Machine is leaking, learn about the possible causes and solutions below.
The portafilter is leaking drops of water or coffee
It is normal to have some coffee or water left in the portafilter after cleaning or emptying it. However, if you notice that the portafilter is leaking more than usual, it means it was not emptied before making another coffee. To prevent this, empty the portafilter after each brew, rinse it, and then shake off any excess water to avoid any leakage.
Clear water under or on the back side of the machine
If you find clear water under or on the back of the machine:
-
The water container may have been overfilled, and excess water was spilled when placing it back into the machine.
-
Make sure to place the water container before plugging on the mains. To catch the internal water coming out of the expansion outlet.
The portafilter is leaking water during brewing coffee
If water is leaking around the portafilter during brewing, it means that the portafilter was not emptied before starting a new brew. Always empty the portafilter before you start a new brew and make sure there is no ground coffee remaining in the portafilter before you start the grinding and brewing process.
