How to clean your Philips 5500 Automatic Coffee Machine:
1. Cleaning the LatteGo milk system
After each use: Separate the two parts of LatteGo and rinse under lukewarm water or place in the dishwasher for easy cleaning.
Quick clean option: If you’re short on time, select "Quick Clean" in the menu to flush hot water through the system.
2. Cleaning the coffee grounds container & water tank
Coffee grounds container: Empty and rinse the container regularly to prevent any limescale buildup.
Water tank: Refill with fresh water every day and rinse weekly to avoid limescale buildup.
3. Activating the Philips AquaClean filter
Soak the AquaClean filter in water for 5 minutes.
Insert it into the water tank and press it down until no more air bubbles appear.
Activate the filter via the machine menu.
4. Lubricating the brew group
Regularly apply Philips HD5061 grease to the moving parts outlined in the tutorial video to keep the brew group operating smoothly.
5. Using coffee oil remover tablets
Every two months, insert a Philips coffee oil remover tablet into the pre-ground coffee compartment, then follow the cleaning cycle instructions outlined in the tutorial video.
6. Descaling your machine
When prompted by the machine, use Philips descaling solution to remove limescale and keep your espresso machine performing at its best.
