How to install your Philips 5500 coffee machine:
1. Press the power button to turn on.
2. Select your preferred language and water hardness.
3. To test water hardness, hold the provided test strip under a running tap for one second, then wait one minute and select the matching red squares on the machine.
4. Remove water tank, fill to indicator and the slide it back in.
5. Activate your AquaClean filter.
6. To activate, unwrap the filter, shake for 5 seconds, and submerge upside down in a bowl of water until no bubbles come out.
7. Remove and empty the water tank, then position the filter securely inside the water tank.
8. Refill water to max indicator and place it back in the machine.
9. Place a container under the machine's spout.
10. Start AquaClean and wait a few minutes.
11. Remove the lid from the bean container and fill with fresh coffee beans.
12. When AquaClean is complete, refill and return water tank.
